The problem with pallet stretch might be condensation...

this stuff was developed by Boeing as a rust preventer for their planes. Expensive yes, but so are your tools.

Extensive experience on the OLDTOOLS list says it's not a good long term rust preventative (despite Wikipedia...); in particular boeshield has been found to be far superior.
