Education is hugely effective in remedying these things but never 100%. Currently underfunded as are all public services. I blame the tories.

The current government have done a very good job of focusing the people's attention on those less well off, e.g. immigrants, "benefit scroungers", while distracting them from the fact that the wealth keeps flowing upwards towards the super rich, who pick your pockets while your tugging your forelocks.
If you dare to mention the outrageous inequality in this country, you're accused of "the politics of envy".
It's much like the poor uneducated people in America, sending money they can ill afford to help Trump, a selfish, spoiled, rich brat, who wouldn't pineapple on them if they were on fire. It would be hilarious if it wasn't so tragic.
I wonder if any of you have actually spent any time with the demonized asylum seekers, or whether you've based your opinions on the diet of punch-down rhetoric some of the media feed you.

My wife volunteers at a food bank, and I sometimes help with deliveries. The recipients vary, some have obviously fallen upon hard times, others may indeed be feckless. It's hard to function without a mobile phone these days, to be fair, and maybe they had those tattoos done in more prosperous times.

There is no right wing and left wing. There are division based on two personality types.
One side (conservative/classical liberal) are cautious people who like rule and order. They believe in a small state and basing their views on rationaility and facts. They believe individualism and family are sacred. They can also be tribal and self serving. They are generally honest about their views and do not seek to control people; but rather believe that the individual is reaponsible for their actions.
They have what they believe are universal values regarding rights. They want society to be fair and safe. They want to build heaven on earth; but generally look out for danger and are weary of it, on their way to building their utopia.
There are many in the ‘right’ who can be bigoted and have a disgust for ‘others’ but those emotions are shared between both ‘left’ and ‘right’. The right focuses those emotions on the unknown and people who create and or are instruments of change, immigrants etc..
On the other side you have liberals (in the American sense).
Liberals believe the world is an open and safe place where there is an untapped well of positive engagement. They are not cautious or care to be bound. They believe we live in the world and that more engagement, will lead to creating their heaven on earth. They overlook clear signs of danger and have very unrealistic views of others and believe in relativism, especially when it comes to other other cultures.
They can handle ever increasing change and push for it because they believe, that through change, you get growth, through diversity you get strength and through both, you create a better world.
On the darker side, they believe in centralised control, are suspicious of ‘free thinkers’ and ironically are very paranoid about anyone who does not agree with their views.
They take almost no historical data as a sign of the future events because that would lead to conservatism.They focus intently one outcomes, not causation.
‘Hitler killed minority groups, ergo, we must elevate minority groups to defend them’. Of course this just creates tyranny by minority, which is one of the main causes of atrocities.
Liberals are also a minority but are very good at manipulation and organisation. They use tools like virtue signalling and public shaming, as a weapon to silence descent. They create intense division by attempting to constantly alienate people who are not in the orthodoxy, which is the majority of the population. They are pseudo religious in their beliefs and use very similar tactics to religion when it comes to coercion.
David Bowie once said “once in a while, you need the right to come in and clear up all the mess”
My observation is that modern liberals ‘the left’ want absolute chaos and they can achieve their goals through manipulation. They believe that through chaos they can usurp the conservative system and come out on top, in their rightful place as rulers, as they believe themselves to be better than everyone. You only have to listen to how they talk. They are more cultured, more intelligent, more educated, more sophisticated. This however reveals their narcissistic tendencies. Narcissist are if anything, hypocrites. Take the ‘left wing’ types who deplore racism and bigotry yet have no end of it and a gleeful willingness to display it, when it comes to anyone who disagrees with them. They constantly proclaim to be protecting the poor and working class but actually despise them and their ‘bigoted views’. Not to mention impoverishing them with mass low wage immigration.
Take the term they use to describe the red skin colour if north west europeans’, a clear racial attack that they think they are getting away with.
And there is a special place in hell for members of the other races who also turn out to be ‘conservative’.

Whether this is justified is a matter of opinion.
But it is NOT how others see us. It was written by Samuel Earle, a British journalist and writer who lives in London.
I believe almost everyone would want to live in a country with equality, where everyone has the same opportunity and is treated equally under the law. Which with a few small wrinkles the UK represents. Anyone can go to university, everyone gets the opportunity to be educated, have a level of medical care etc etc. However, what the left is now pushing and succeeding amazing well is to create a society that is biased and no longer fair. Outcomes are no longer based upon ability and capability and selecting the best person for the role. This is creating tensions which are only becoming worse and dividing the country along race, sex / gender, religious and age boundaries. Free speech has become a thing of the past, something our grandfathers laid down their lives for and now we as a society have thrown away as a mere inconvenience.
Equality does not mean that everyone has the same wealth, some will accumulate great wealth, and some will have very little, that is by nature of the universe something that will always occur. Even in most communist / socialist societies there have always been the elite (Zils speeding down special lanes on the roads and the Dachas in a lovely place for the ‘ruling class’). Those born with an ability that is recognised by society at the time will always accumulate more than those who don’t have those virtues. The UK right wing philosophy is to create equality, with a safety net so people can’t fall too far. To create a system that rewards effort, to allow people to manage their own lives, have self determination and have full representation in a fully accountable parliament that has full control over all aspects that affect the country.
The left wing approach is to limit people’s success, to define what is sufficient, and when that level is reached to take it from them and give to those who either can't or won’t strive for success. In every single socialist society where this philosophy has routed itself it has created increased poverty depravity and authoritarianism to maintain control. We now live is society where you arn’t sure if the pilot of a plane, or the heart surgeon is actually the best person for the job or even meets the full requirements of the role. Why, because we are now selecting people based on race, gender, and physical limitation. As an example, the grade requirement to get into our two most elite universities is dependant in your background sex and ethnicity. If this continues we will create even more prejudice and inequality. Quotas like we now have for how many females must be on FTSE boards of directors means that the money our pension company’s invest in the stock market is within company’s that are recruiting not the best, but the best of a particular group. Again as an example, Engineering and Maths is dominated by men, probably still around 90+ percent. So to actively select females to gravitate to the top in these professions is to ensure that the best people overall are not being selected, but the best of a very small pool of women. The same can be said for say the HR roles which are nearly 100% female. To actively promote men as a criteria for selection is bizarre.
So yes, for a fair society where everyone has an equal chance to succeed, (not achieve the same level of wealth) right wing policies are the only sensible and practicable way forward. At the moment we have vacuum as even the conservatives can only best be described as centre left.

In my view. modern liberals (the left) have been effectively overtaken by malevolent types. Liberals are prone to being manipulated because they are more empathetic. This allows narcissists to come in and easily control them.
Unfortunately social media has been a huge opening for these types and they now control the narrative of the left.
That is why many of the current ‘lefts’ positions, make almost no sense.
You want to protect the working class but are pro mass immigration.
You want to protect women's rights but yet act in a way that only puts them in danger.
You believe in democracy yet want to overturn a referendum and take us into an increasingly undemocratic foreign union.
You hate the idea of Empire yet worship the EU.
You hate racism yet call north west europeans with red skin a certain cut of pork.
You hate bigotry yet also call for anyone who doesn’t agree with you, to be hounded out if their job, their life and society.
This is not the left. This is the signs of narcissistic manipulation done to the ‘left’ by intelligent manipulative types.
As Jordan Peterson so accurately put it, “they want to burn it all down and then dance in the flames”.
Narcissists are only happy when you’re in as much pain as they are. They want everyone to suffer as they do and they are going to do that, by destroying everything you hold dear. Your country, your culture (which they claim doesn’t even exist), your family and your right to speak out and they are well on the road to doing that.

May I ask, do you support the unions striking like Mick Lynch from the RMT?
I don't know enough about it but I admire many of Mick’s positions. I think he’s an honest person in the classical British left wing sense and I respect that.
