Well thats it for another 363 days

ITS OVER

not my favourite time of year this Christmas lark

Back to reality as from tomorrow

And I have not had to throw anything out because its out of date :p

My 1 basket Xmas shopping policy triumphs again

I had a great Christmas.
No1 and No3 sons brought their wife/partner (and in the case of No3 his partner's sister) and the new baby.
The kids brought starter and dessert, which cut down the kitchen time and labour a lot and we all sat around until 8pm chatting, when they all went home.

Really relaxed, good food and wine and good people, how it should be.

I did miss that nice Mr Ahmejinadad's message, though.

We had a great time albeit very quite. One daughter, one son in law, one grandson and the mother in law.

We got our turkey direct from the farm this year, it tasted ok but I had that feeling in the back of my mind that it wasn't quite as good as the M&S ones we've been getting for years.

we cant wait for it to be new years. We have had the family round and, although nice, its getting a bit too much now. Without sounding harsh, i just want it to be over now. On the plus side, me and hubby have managed to collect two bottles of champers so we will have a nice quite night in for new years eve.

Happy new year to everyone! bring on 2009!

Im not a huge fan of christmas but i love seeing my kids faces when they come down and see all the presents , im still waiting for my eldest (14) to open his as he is lording it up in spain with his grandparents
The thing that gets me about christmas day is the 364 days of bloody build up until it comes round again and shops selling stuff off cheap a couple of days after you have just paid top price for it

Perhaps it's a sign of today's yoof, but the only thing i like about xmas is the giving a receiving of presents. I'm not much os a family man and have a strange relationship with mine. What with my back being bad right now, it's been a little more stressful. Tho, this xmas was the best for a very long time. I think this was mainly because we held the xmas lunch here and I could lay down when I needed to. I'm certainly going to press for us to do it here next year, Now we have our beautiful daughter, my present booty has reduces somewhat (my Mum got me a set of Lidl brad point bits!). But that's fine, I had loads of fun playing with little'n and her new toys.

My back is getting better gay by day and I simply can not wait to get back into the shop to finish all the belated xmas pressies.

Happy New Year all. Forget world peace, let's hope we can find financial harmony across the globe.

Glad to hear that your back is improving wizer, a bad back is no joke. You can't simply run away from the pain.

Roy.

We had originally anticipated having either my parents or SWMBOs over for Christmas. However they both thought that they were invited, so we ended up with both sets, which worked out really well in the end.

My mum brought cheese and biscuits and pud for boxing day, my wife's mum brought the Christmas pud. Having four grandparents meant that my wife and myself got a break from the childcare, and I didn't peel a single vegetable for 4 days ;)

The one thing I was really looking forward to was having the 8 of us around the table for dinner, and it worked out really well. They kids were also good as gold and let us have a lie in until 9am on Christmas day...

Of course with our kids being the only grandchildren on either side of the family they were of course inundated with presents, fortunately most of them were clothes.
