My bike failed the MOT today, only the second time in 50 yrs that I have had a failure.
Reason?
A loose headlight!
I don't know about other bikers, but on a 'naked' bike, I always have the headlamp 'loose' so that I can adjust the alignment based on the bike's load.
Am I the only one?

Poor show by the test garage they have loads of time to do the test so could have corrected it and still finished in the allotted time with no extra paper work.

They certainly had the time as I dropped the bike in and left it for them to do it when it suited them.
I don't have much choice as it's the only test centre anywhere near me. That's modern service for you though I suppose.

I had the same thing on my bike " Headlight too high " Failed

He told me it had failed while I was standing watching the mot be conducted

Then he got hold of the head light and gave it a quick yank ! , then said

" Its passed now "

When it came to paying up time I had

A Printed Fail certificate

and a

PASS certificate

I asked why he had bothered to do both and was told " THEY EXPECT an amount of failures

There's logic in there somewhere I guess. I tightened the headlamp whilst at the garage and he passed it this morning.
