Alf's 10,000th post prize duly arrived from Waka and now gets pride of place in my cabinet, but I couldn't resist giving it a try out first on a bit of walnut before making room for it. :)

It worked straight out of the box  so no need to teach Waka about sharpening. =D>

and here it is in pride of place.

and a final thank you to Waka for the generosity in donating the plane as a prize for the memorable feat by Alf. \:D/

Congrats on your new plane. Just had to comment about the workbench and tool cabinet which certainly caught my eye - even more than the plane! They both look fantastic 8)

Cheers :D

Thank you for the remarks about the cabinet and bench, here is another pic of the cabinet, it's stripy cos it was made from leftovers from other projects in all four different woods.

I had missed this post. Confirmed my original comments - the bench is beautiful :D Looks better constructed and finished than my oak dining table. Loved the WIP pics. Just one thing I would be frightened to work on it for fear of marring the finish.

Cheers :D

As said by Tony above that is a seriously nice cabinet & bench. :) Methinks that the plane has found a true home, I dare not think about how it would look in my tatty old cupboard

Thanks for the link to the bench construction, a new bench is on my 'Round Tuit' list 'tho I might be too old to use it by the time it's built
