That may well be true, but they could continue using their old technology until such time that they wanted to upgrade - with the DAB system that is not an option as it replaces the old technology and we are left with equipment that we can no longer use.

From what i`ve read you will still be able to use your old radio to recieve very local stations, so it will still be of use.

Misterfish's point is very valid.

And in any case....have you heard the cr*p from those local stations! Radio equivalent of tweeting :shock:
