=D> =D> Nice one Martin. A couple of tips.
You will need another member of the Clan to help you as its rather heavy saw, and when you open the box you will find that its been packed inverted so that you can put the base and feet on before you turn it the right way up.

I know that you said you will not be getting the wheel kit but just incase you change your mind in the future make sure that you put the feet on the correct way around (there are thread holes), because if you don't it will mean turning 220kg of cast iron upside down to correct the problem.

I can't remember if you are getting the sliding carriage or not, but if you are and you are putting both cast iron side extensions on the right, watch out because until you put the extension legs on, the extra weight on that side will tip the saw over. I nearly got caught out, but luckily we just grabbed it in time before it hit the floor.

I think the mitre gauge that comes with the saw is a load of crap, so you may want to get another one in the future.

My god I am rambling, I must be just as excited as you

Good luck mate and if I can help just ask.

Mike

hi mike

I probably will get the sliding table at a later date, or if i see one going cheap somewhere , thanks for your tips , seeing you have the 12" version it does show legs on your model but not on this model, so is the cast iron table area larger on yours ? hence why it has legs . still i will watch out for that , as i do intend to place both pieces on the right hand side .

first things i want to get sorted when it arrives so i can take accurate measurements is to get the turntable made and get the main saw body mounted and secured when i 'm happy it's level as it swivels then add the extra cast tables to the right , and finally mount from the turntable as well the over head axminster saw table extraction guard (page 10) so the hole thing revolves still connected to the extractor, plus i want to try and make the top section of the guard swivel back out of the way when the saw is not in use but still stay connected , hay ho good fun ain't it. hc

hi digit

yep, i still have to look into that , i do have a nice blade i recently had sharpen it's hanging on the wall waiting for this saw to turn up , it came off my old triton , um i think without checking it 60 teeth , but i do want to do this saw justice so i'll be asking question on which ones to get . hc

One possible problem with blades HC, the arbor is one INCH in diameter.

Hi Martin, I think the 12" it slightly bigger but only by an inch or two, and I know that most of the pictures on the web show the 12" with two legs, but that is only because most of them show the sliding table fitted and both extensions on the right. Whereas the 10" version is mostly shown without the sliding table and one extension fitted to the left and the other to the right, that is why there is no need for the legs and why they are not shown. But although I could be wrong, I am pretty sure that if you fit both extensions on the right of your saw you will need to fit at least one leg otherwise it will tip over.
Now whether you get the leg/legs with the saw or you only get them when you buy the sliding table I am not sure (I got my sliding table at the same time as the saw).

Edit: Are you going to bolt/screw the saw down to the turn table? If you are then you will not need the legs as this should stop it tipping over.

Cheers

Mike

No HC, cos I use Freud blades and they use a 30 mm hole on larger blades and you fit a reducer. The smaller Freuds use a 25mm hole and require the careful use of a file. I have found that the thirty mill plus spacer can also need slight filing as I have never been able to buy a one inch reducer, only 25 mill ones.
Not a major problem but I thought it better to inform you.

Roy.

hi

cheers guys , possible problems duly noted . hc

ps i do a selection of reducing spacers don't know what sizes without checking first .

hi

just come of the sipuk web site , no pics or any mention of a leg kit sold separate for the 01332 perhaps they do come with the sliding table 01495 , i'm not overly worried about legs anyway as you mention mike one way would be to secure it through the feet to the turntable and i think i can secure it on to the axminster dust extraction system as well .so stayed tuned .

mind you if any other user that has the sliding table for the 01332 would like to let us all know does it come with legs when both extension tables are fitted on the right .hc
