hi ggggrrrrr    (sipuk delivery) look like monday now , rutlands arranged for today because i had previously arranged for today with them as i have hossi appointments mon tues & wed. someone there can't read delivery instructions or simply don't care when they deliver .

sipuk delivery cant give a delivery time till mondays delivery address have been arranged rutlands have agreed to ring them monday 9:30 then arrange to ring me , so don't know yet if i can still make my MRI appointment time waited months for this date.

I'm trying hard not to punch a hole through the wall at the moment   why can't people read and follow basic instructions , i went to a lottime and calls to arrange this date all the relevant info on my invoice that was passed to sip uk only to totally ignored .hc

Thats unusually efficient for rutlands customer service (assuming of course that a) it wasnt their **** up in the first place in passing the wrong info onto sipuk, and b) they actually do manage to ring them monday as per plan)

as you'll have gathered from other threads i dont have a lot of faith in rutlands as this kind of delivery problem is par for the course with them.

fingers crossed it works out for you - but JIC is there a neighbour or someone who could take delivery if the big lorry does turn up on monday despite arrangements to the contrary.

hi bisoftmoose

no i have the invoice here from rutlands sent by luke which clearly states the day for delivery today friday as i had arranged with him because of my hossi appointments for next week. monday i will on the phone at 9:0 clock to arrange a time much later in day so i might just still keep my MRI SCAN time, i don't know simple basic instruction can't even get that right nowadays. hc

mmm you could still say Rutlands is both responsible and could have done more to ensure smoother delivery. But let's not get in to that again..... :)

your contract to supply is definitely with rutlands not sipuk - so its up to them to sort out the courier not you , and if delivery fails because sipuk didnt follow the instructions on the invoice this wont change the obligation that rutlands have to ensure you get what you paid for.

Don't leave it too long - otherwise some enterprising soul is bound to twok it.

Sorry to hear of your trials HC - it sort of takes the shine off the new toy. Sadly, few modern companies seem to be able to do what they promise.

Good luck with moving it in and setting it up - hope you are very happy together :)

I just cannot believe your luck  It was obviously on a pallet and so he removed it from the lorry with a pallet trolley, so why did he not use this to help you to get it to your workshop? Alright no one expects the driver to drop it just where you want it inside your shop (although my deliveries always are, but thats probably because I get around with a walking stick), but as long as he does not have to go down steps or manage other awkward obstacles they should at least get it to the door :x

So at the moment you do not know if the extension legs came with the saw. I was surprised by the weight of yours 177kg, because as I said the 12" model is 220kg, so it seems that you are right the 12 is a lot bigger.

EDIT: You snuck a picture in when I wasn't looking
It does not look like there's much there, but all the bits and pieces including the base is inside the inverted saw.

Cheers

Mike

I'd be nervous as hell with that sitting out there in the rain. Have you got any tarps that can go over it?

hi guys

tom, nope no tarps , & yep i'm nervious it being there .

mike , there is a step but the driver didn't want to know about pushing the box onto the decking and left it there . :x hc.

I wrote that post before I saw your picture. What an ars-hole  It is as if the bigger pallet was made just the right size for your decking. All he had to do was help push the saw onto the decking and then use the pallet trolly on the second pallet which the saw is directly sitting on.

Cheers

At least you've got it.
It's common nowadays for delivery to be kerb side only. The minute they (the delivery men) step onto your property they're at risk and their insurance likely won't cover them should anything untoward happen. The fact that many do is simply down to them being nice rather than it being what they are supposed to do.

Not on your Nelly John  I didn't say that they are supposed to help you to get it to the workshop. In fact some companies state that their drivers will only drop it just inside your property. What I was saying is that most drivers seeing that they have the means (ie pallet trolly etc) to help you move it will ask you where you want it without any prompting :D And for the guy in Martin's case to leave it where he did is simply a plonker. On the other hand he might be a nice bloke having a bad day.

Cheers

Mike
