I'm after a simple video editor programme so I can string a series of short clips together (mp4's), but the one I have bundled, Media Impressions will not except some of my clips. Ultimately I want to upload them to the tube.
Any recommendations that I can download for free and are known to be virus free - thanks.

I was about to download openshot when the site started talking about PDF converters, so I backed out.
What's that all about?
thanks for the suggestion anyway.

there's one called Blender, apparently very good but haven't used it myself.

hmm. not sure. Was it an option to download extra software?
Openshot has a decent reputation and getting it from the source is safer than a repack from a third party.
It works well and has presets for exporting to youtube etc

Apparently It also uses Blender for certain functions but I don't think I ever used that particular function.

Hi Nev
Its possible the first link is one of those sites where the thing you want is small and unobtrusive, whilst the BIG "download me now" button takes you somewhere else.
Your 2nd link is completely different so I will give that a go later - Ta!

Well I've just opened Windows for the first time in years to double check and as as I suspected That BIG start button is not the download button but a google advert to take you somewhere else, sly shifty money grabbing so and so's , the download link is the one where it says download or torrent.

Tip 1
if you hover the mouse cursor over a button or link you will get the full link address appear at the bottom of the screen, which may give you an idea where that link will go, e.g. if it starts doubleclick.googleads. blah its an advert to lure you not the official button.
Tip 2
Grab yourself an Ad blocker like Adblocker plus and those iffy links will not appear. Of course you can disable the adblocker on trusted sites like UKW so it keeps going due to the revenue raised from advertisers ;)

Edit:
Assuming you are running windows, you can still get the now discontinued Windows Movie Maker from Msoft which I think will also do what you require. Link here.. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/hel ... r-download

good luck

Not sure if this is exactly what you need, but I have been very happy with DVD Catalytst. Pull it up and take a look to see if it would help.

HitFilm Express 4 is free. I am a Premier Pro user, but I have used this and it is very good, highly recommended.

It can be downloaded here: http://hitfilm.com/

There are several video tutorials available too which I suggest you watch a few first. The hardest part is getting your head around the terms used.

If you need any help please ask.
