Had a phone call yesterday from a lady asking if I would make her 5 goblets all different as she needed them for gifts for some japanese visitors. Must be different styles and different woods. Oh yes she needs them by the 16th of the month please.
Today I've been busy and managed to turn this lot except the last one which I have in a gallery and will get back tomorrow.

Bit more fun than a dozen drawer knobs eh Richard?

Very satisfying for you Pete, one for the commission & two for the freedom to vary the form at will.

Wonder how the lady is going to decide on allocation of pieces with such a wide span of form.

Lovely pieces Pete, I love the fourth one I think it must be the chunky look.
They are all super and as Chas.said it will be a problem deciding who gets which. But you wont have to worry about that   .Great to see you are turning over a Bob or two, long may it continue. REgards Boysie.

Hi Pete,

A good selection there mate. Only one of each though? Where's the challenge in that

Well done,

Richard

The challenge is in that she wanted one medaeval looking one, one georgian style one and she wants one that will hold at least a can of lager....yet to make that one. Personally I'd rather have the fun of making these than the challenge of making several dozen door knobs all the same. My hat is off to you and anyone who does that, that takes skill.

To be fair to you, there would be a bit of of research to work out what a Georgian goblet looks like. I certainly can't imagine one off the top of my head!!!

That last one, I suppose you're going to have to test with a can of beer.... the sacrifices we have to make for our art

Great stuff and what a brilliant gift for the Japanese. They will love them I am sure
