Ahh, I think you may have actually been right, some of it does resemble birch bark just very discoloured 👍
I'll shut my mouth and get back in my box 😅😅😅
Not being very knowledgeable in the wood recognition department but id have thought that any wood from the sea would make it beach wood 😉

Few more 6inch trees, as gorgeous as the wood is, turning it creates a huge amount of dust everywhere and no shavings just a pile of fine dust so I'm a bit happy I've used it all up. Next will be more snowmen.
Also finished the Cork mat and pallet wood blank, the resin hadn't really soaked into the Cork much and no matter how sharp I got my gouge I couldn't get a cut so ended up saturating the whole thing with CA so I could get a clean cut, have to be careful with sanding too as 180 was pulling lumps out, got it smooth and used a friction polish.

Looking good Stig, I was most concerned about the cork flying apart on you
My sea kill project has died
Whilst I still have a chest infection I took interest in my blanks today.... sad to say they are not going to be bowls the left the opening is now 1/4 inch if does not split in two I will cut in two... way to much coffee needed to fill gap. Not to mention splitting whilst at 800 rpm
Not sure if shows but right one has a V crack forming..... I don’t want to be on the receiving end of that chunk if it flys out
