More snowmen for the paint kits today, got 50 done now so to change it up a bit I did a few a little differently. Will start making up the sets next week, hopefully the paint pots and brushes will come soon.

Hi Stig, sorry but I have a 'pet hate' for clocks (or any time-pieces) that don't have numbers (LOL)! I do love that Ivy of yours though, spalting and some grain. My Ivy was quite plain. I seem to spend a great deal of my time cutting Ivy that has wrapped around trees, in order to enable the tree to grow. My attempt at a Clock was done a few years ago using recycled Decking; glued and joined with 'biscuits', with a bit of Pyrography thrown in. Although this clock is on our lounge wall, I rarely bother to put a battery into it!(LOL)

Had it been a bigger piece I'd probably add numbers/markers but it's too small and not fully round so would detract from the grain, I have one more mechanism but need to check it's working before putting time into making another.

Had a few days away but was back a couple days ago and spent that time cleaning and reorganizing the work shop. Now in the throes of processing a pile of cypee ready to turn loads of stuff for a local Christmas market on dec 3. Had a small play and did this from one of the of cuts.20241019_190746.jpg20241019_192308.jpg20241019_192851.jpg20241019_192831.jpg20241019_192444.jpg20241019_192420.jpg
Very rough only sanded to 240 grit very chunky. Played with leaving tne sides natural to leave an image of a log.

Very nice 😍

Went out to the makerspace and did a couple more snowmen then got bored so looking for something else I came across a stack of Cork coasters, grabbed an board of palletwood and using some 5minute epoxy I made up this blank, not a clue how or if it will work but I'm from the F around and find out generation 🤪🤪🤪🤪

Cool, fingers crossed for a good turn out. Be interested how you get on with the difference of hardness of the cork and wood.

N nick how on earth did you do that. It’s brill
Stig, be careful of the shear action of turning breaking the bond between the different types of wood.
The cork could suffer tear out and part company

Thanks mate, two small ones are road kill (picked up from side of road) spelled oak
