Online printing of single sheets?

Went to print a copy of my will - but our printer has lost its cable and has not been used four more than four years. I am loathe to source a new cable only to find that the ink has dried up etc, all for one printed sheet.

Does anyone know of online printers who would do small numbers of quality prints from a .doc file? Or am I going to fall foul of the overheads that make it more expensive than buying a new printer? (A new printer is less than 30gbp on amazon, but that seems a waste of resources as it will likely never get used again).

I think you need your local copy shop. They exist to do big/colour print (A0 plans etc) but most can do A4 as well.

Save it to a memory stick. Take it to any copy shop. 30 pence a sheet last time I looked.

Local schools and post offices sometimes do it as well Phil but surely a family member or friend will have an operating printer?

I don't think any doubt the old one;s knackered if not used for 4 years #-o

Thanks for all the replies.... it did not occur to me to walk down town - I was thinking that those places were for large print runs of fliers etc #-o .

Family live too far away, and I tend to be an independent cuss with this sort of thing.

Thanks for the offer marcros - but it seems like an imposition. Small as our town is, it might have a print shop to do the job. A kind offer though.

To make sure it prints correctly it may be prudent to save your .doc file as a PDF if possible and supplying this for printing as there is less chance of file compatibility issues.

If you decide to get a printer, I recommend a laser printer. It's ideal for regular but low usage, works every time.

Although for printing one letter every four years, obviously getting it printed is better and you don't need your own printer.

Local computer shop here prints off memory stick, 20p page.

Does fax as well.

No mac, but open office on linux. Writer has the menu option for direct pdf output. (Open office may be available free for windows too)

+1 for your local library - usually cheaper than copy shops. Suggest you print/export to PDF and then drop on a memory stick.
