Advice please. Having not done any wood turning since school days and now being retired I've just taken up turning again; initially to make specific components for another hobby - restoring old lawnmowers - but....!

I've bought a Sorby Pro-edge tool grinder and see that they suggest a grinding angle for skew chisels of 15* (30* included angle) but none of the youtube videos etc mention an angle as acute as that.
Views and comments please.

What Chas said! I only turn hard woods but love a 15 + 15 degree skew. I find a 20 + 20 to feel cumbersome but many people swear by it. To my hands the narrower grind feels keen and a little skittish, the less acute one feels duller but more steady. I'm afraid you do have to go to all the trouble of grinding it before discovering that you prefered it how it was before sometimes and then having to grind it back :)
