whilst passing through Kent I made a quick diversion and headed for Axminster PT. I just bought a Trend T11 on impulse and now I've got a 2 hr journey home before I can use it!! Apparently they're opening a trade counter branch in High Wycombe although the staff didn't know when.

yes axminster is like that. You just can't not buy something. I think it's evil.

The only good thing is I stopped at one item - nearly came home with a lathe and an LN plane but common sense kicked in!!

Good buy. I bought the t11 two months ago (big step for me) as I usually spend £100 most. Will not look back great machine and best of all it's not yellow.!!!!!!!!!!!! can't stand yellow for some reason. That's my opinion.

I already have the Triton TRA001 which I use in my Triton router table, the T11 is for hand use and I was planning to get the trend dovetail jig next (as I have £100 of Axminster vouchers burning a hole in my pocket) but can't find it on their website.

I must admit I considered the T11 recently. I do like the fence on it, I'm not sure I'd go for the little Triton, as much as a fan of the big one as I am.

Thanks for that bit of news Rob - since I'm only in England two or three times a year HIgh Wycombe will be much more handy for me.

Can't say I blame you, I have the big De Walt and when I use it outdoors it always seems to attract a wasp or two for some reason???

Is the Trend T11 a quarter inch collet?

I am always having trouble using an adaptor on the Triton half inch machine.
The smaller bits always seem to come loose for me.

Just seen the announcement on the Axminster website for the planned opening of the High Wycombe branch - should make things a bit easier from now on for traveling. Although we still are considering moving back to Somerset once the housing market levels out - my wife's reasons are "family", mine are "Yandles & Axminster".

Great routers the dewalt and the trend.
They are both 1/2" routers, but I buy seperate nuts and collets for the different sizes? have a couple 1/4", 3/8" and 4 or 5 1/2" collet and nuts.
Why do you need to use an adapter?

Just tried the T11 on some oak for a thick oak mirror I'm making - scarily powerful compared to the old 1/4 inch router I was using!!!!

Mailee,

I know the feeling... But most nectar loving insects are attracted to yellow. Hence there are lots of yellow flowers. 8)

They like lavender and white too, so I wear grey clothing when I go out painting.

But wasps mainly like the smell of resin. They go even more wild for marmalade and jam, so at this time of year I put a newly emptied pot of 'Roses' lime marmalade outside the workshop door. I put about 3" of water in the jar. Fifteen or so drowned wasps in one day isn't uncommon.

Regards

John (The wicked Wasp-killer of Warks) :)

Hi Woody,

Yes I do visit Wetcanvas. Artwayze is my nick there. So we probably are the same sorts of painter!

But this is a woodies forum! [-X

:eek:ccasion5:

Great though innit. We can make our own easels, plan-chests and other wooden art gear. \:D/

Cheers
John
