Given we live on a narrowboat and my workshop is now the towpath I am to say the least a tad scuppered. Really too cold to feel your fingers even less the feel of the chisels. I wait on !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ps any work shop space available at Foxton!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?

I know how you feel, our boat is moored at Kings Bromley and we don't live on board, but we spent Xmas on board a few years ago.

We moored at the bottom of Caen Hill Xmas night, and woke up boxing morning to find us frozen in. If I remember we were stuck for a couple of days, very pretty but coooooold!!

We live not far from Foxton are you moored ther now? might come for a walk next week.

Regards
Rod
PS we have some log offcuts if you run low for the logburner!

It's been -7 all day in my workshop here in Wales. Last night it went down to -13.9. Brrrrrrrr. Apart from the cold, the fact that the water for my wet grinder is frozen solid in the water tray means sharpening any tools can wait as well :) At least I do remember to take the water trough off the wheel at the end of each session.

Hi Rod..yes still here and likely to be here for week or two, in fact moored alongside the horse sculpture above the top lock. The locks close tom for winter maintenance so no traffic for three weeks even if they could ice break.
Be good to see you and say hello if you this way and it goes without saying we would be grateful for off cuts for the burner if you still have some. Offsets the cost of the solid fuel!! Rgds Terry

Blister...
Could easily find the room near the log burner but certain I would never be forgiven.....T

As for the ice carving...well we now have ice about 3/4 thick so soon crack on with that one, maybe, well not sure, well you know, errrm, TOO COLD...T

Kym, you've got my sympathy. Can't you get some heating in there?

Not easily, Lightweeder - the workshop is one end of a barn. It has single-skin breeze block & tin walls, a very high roof, and doors & roof ventilation slots that are pretty drafty! I do have a geriatric electric fire I use out there when it's not quite this cold - but for the time being, turning is out of the question!

Good weather for splitting firewood with a hand-axe, though :)
