I've been reading up on the subject of gluing boards of wood together and the danger of cupping. I only learnt of this about this halfway through my current project, that is I'm making a shooting board. I've already dimensioned the timber but have not yet glued up ! The base is a flat 18mm mdf offcut which I've trim edged front + sides with beech of about 7mm, for the top section was initially going to and use 12mm ply ! Trim for the rear edge (both the mdf & ply) a thicker hardwood trim (12mm ), glued.
So my worry is that cupping may take hold in the future, the shooting board will be kept in the shed which is dry but does see variations in temperature through the year. Should I be concerned about gluing together these relatively stable sheet materials ?
Thanks for any info
