Elsewhere on the forum there has been talk about how to stop people nicking our tools and what we would do if we caught them. Well I can say without a shadow of a doubt that I would willingly go to prison for torturing these ar$eholes to death. There is no legal punishment that comes anywhere near enough to make the scum who did this pay. I just cannot understand what sort of mind would allow a human being to do this sort of thing to a poor defenseless animal.

Roy I do not think there is a do gooder in the land who would open their mouth in support of this scum.

I can find pity within me for many, even Venables, as he will be lucky to survive within the prison system, but even I can be pushed too far.
A helpless child, a helpless animal, I weep!

Does it hell. Does it sum you up? I'm part of the UK and it doesn't sum me up.

I'm fed up of this country's gone to pot stuff all the time. There are idiots and cretins and nasty little gits all over the place - there always have been - that's a regrettable part of humanity.

Even twenty years ago this wouldn't have made the national press and we wouldn't have known about it. It would have been in the local paper at most. That wouldn't have made it any better or less sick, but nor would it have made the UK any better than it is now.

If this is your reaction to what people did to an animal I'd be interested to know what your reaction is to this story?

Yeah Steve I read about that at the time, I'm sure that I could think up a long and grueling death that would make them beg me to end it all.

Exactly!!

Roy.

Well after having worked for 20 years in developing countries I hope that I have done some good - but only for humans - I let others get worked up about cruelty to animals.

Steve

Your posts crossed he did not mean you, now lets get on heh.

You have done a wonderful job helping those in need in developing countries, but why does that mean you cannot feel for an animal who cannot defend itself (because its tied up) against a human with a gallon of petrol? An animal who in most houses would give its life to protect you and your family.

Cheers

Mike

for once jake you an i are in full agreement - there have always been evil, sick and twisted scumbags in the world , probably right back to neolithic times - this doesnt sum up britain , it just sums up the sick basturd who did it

think of all the good people in the country and all the acts of selflessness or heroism that dont get reported.

Don't get me wrong - I think that what was done to the dog in Liverpool was dreadful. My reason for my original post was to try to understand how people who feel very strongly about cruelty to an animal would feel about similarly cruel acts being carried out on, for example an Albino child who cannot defend itself. My impression is that people in the UK are more disturbed by a story like the one that Digit posted than the one that I posted a link to. If that is correct, I find myself asking what can charities working in developing countries do to help raise awareness and provoke similar feelings of indignation and disgust to those shown for the dog.
