Hi Woody, glad to hear you're doing well - I feel kind of guilty for buying your Maxi now but rest assured its well used, its taken my turning to another level and I try my first craft fair tomorrow - all the best mate and good luck in your return to play.

Bob

Thanks Bob good to heart your getting good use from the lathe and it has helped you to progress Im looking for something a bit smaller now no more big stuff got to old for that LOL, good luck with your craft fair mate

Good to hear you are on the mend Woody and that you can carry on turning, all new kit to come as well
Take care.

Great to hear the good news .I know how you must have felt having to let go of your turning gear a real bummer. But the good news you have got far outweighs anything else.
You can now look forward to getting some new goodies . Best of luck in the future and enjoy your return to turning .
God Bless

Woody

Great news, will you be turning your summerhouse back into a new turning facility???

Sorry I have not been in touch but just back from travelling overseas, I'll give you a bell later on today to catch up.

Kind regards

Aden

Aden,

Yup, you got it the summerhouse is on the way out, triple heart bypass a few weeks ago and he's back running a small scale construction company again. If you're nearby go round and tell him to slow down!

The bypass does not hurt its the dam sternum part that hurt, how does I know I,ve been there. Glad to hear you are on the mend take it easy and get back into woodturning slowly. Take care

Apologies for the late post but so glad to hear that you are up & about & on the mend.

Such a shame that you sold all your wood turning gear. If there is anything tool wise that you are in need of, you are welcome to anything that I have two of, for the cost of the postage.

Wishing you all the best.

Hi Robbo it is a shame that I have sold everything I was originally told I would never be able to turn again but then they done the bypass and changed there mind but never mind no good dwelling on that I see it as a new start all be it an expensive one LOL
Your very kind offer is much appreciated I have managed to get hold of a few chisels from good friends and eBay and I have ordered a new lathe the Nova 1624-44 a birthday pressy from the wife the one I was given is a bit pass its sell by date it sounds like a bucket of loos nuts and bolts LOL I am still on the look out for some bowl and spindle gouges and some tools I will make myself I got some of those carbide tips from America they were delivered within 3 days just got to make them up now well once I have finished the workshop

Well, that first lathe didn't last long did it! Have you got a VB36 on order yet or are you going straight for the Titan?

Many of you will not know Woody in person, I am fortunate in that I have met him a few times and had the benefit of his advice and experience as someone who was then new to turning (still am new relatively). He was kind enough to have half a dozen of us newbies round to his house, gave us a days tuition and his delightful wife, Vi, then fed us into the bargain!

He was devasted when he was given the medical news that he could never turn again, thankfully the medical profession is sometimes wrong and we won't begrudge them the caution with which that advice was given, an ex turner is better than a dead turner!

Robbo, your offer was, I suspect more appreciated than you imagine, and if anyone else out there has a few duplicates that they have no further use for I am sure that Woody would appreciate the step back on the ladder to being a fully kitted out turner that he once was. I hope to go and see in early August so if theres anyone in the Herts/Beds area who has anything spare I'd be delighted to pass it on. Otherwise I'll leve it to Woody to divulge his address.

Hope you don't mind me posting this Woody, you've been very kind to alot of people and when life deals you a s h 1 t blow, its time to get a return on your kindness.

Woody,

I still have plenty of the fatigue matting that you kindly gave me. You are more than welcome to have some back- just let me know and I will drop it in when I am next down your way.

Mark

Hi Woody

You kindly sold me two or three bowl gouges etc, you are welcome to have them back at the same money. Just thought they may be more familiar for you than different ones which I can get used to as I am still learning all of it any how's.

Best wishes for a full and fruitful recovery.

Phil
