A good friend of ours dropped their pressure cooker on theirs and cracked the glass and it's a stand alone cooker/oven/grill  Now they have to but a complete new cooker because a new hob is as expensive as the cooker

A common occurrence

I've replaced at least a dozen for customers over the last few years, cracked in this manner. Every one has been covered by the household insurance policy.

Not here they ain't  There is no such thing as accidental damage here.. If a neighbour had done it then they could claim off of his insurance, but that would be the only way. I found that out after we had a lampshade above our dining table drop and break. It was one of a pair on a billard type lamp and when we eventually found a new pair, couldnt' find a matching single, it cost us 150€

No offence taken Bob (hammer) (hammer) (hammer)

All of the lovely wine makes you more careful. Especially when you have to pay as much as 5€ a bottle sometimes

As I said earlier, we have a gas hob run off of a 1000ltr bottle at the back of the house. That lasts us for a while, even with the under floor heating on through the winter 8) 8)

The view, on a clear day, of the Pair-a-knees Mountains helps make it worth the hassle too
