Can you ID this?

Hi Everyone, A friend of mine has a Record plane with no number on it. The best guess I could come up with was a number 50A but this is a little different to the ones I could find.

That looks remarkably like a Record 44 that I sold recently, albeit mine was in pristine condition...

My friend and I both have 44's, they have a clamp to hold the blade in place. This plane is different. Thank you though.

Perhaps it is an earlier version/prototype where they were trying out different clamping methods.
Am sure someone on the forum who is more knowledgeable will shed some light on the subject!

It’s an early one with those screws, cutter is wrong as noted above could be a prototype or made from various planes the main body could be a 50A

It's likely as It is a bit similar to my Stanley 50.
