Can anyone recommend an engraver for metal

A German engraver from about 25 years ago has stopped working, I wanted to replace it can anyone recommend a machine. I note that there a Dremel machines but I find these a touch too plastic,

What was his name? Did he retire?

If you gave some specific details of what you have, we might be able to give specific details of similar replacements. Some idea of how the engraving occurred (vibratory, cut, pantograph) would also be useful Otherwise, we are just guessing.

It was a machine I brought about 25 years ago. I have a dremmel which will take a rotating engraving tip but it lacks the banging action an engraving tool has.
