Bog oak pen blanks.

We'll have to make it quick, because I get a bit dizzy in this sub-forum........It's not my natural territory!

I am starting a project in bog oak, and it is generating some small off cuts. The only thing they are any use for is pen blanks, or maybe the occasional tool handle, just because of their size. Free to you guys, but something for P&P. The most important question is what size is a pen blank?

Drop me a PM if you want one or some. At the moment they are all black, but I am sure that in due course there will be some rich deep brown ones too.

Righto spinney people........I have made all the blanks:

They fall into 5 categories: black (28); black punky (35); short black (4); brown punky (4); brown (10).

The short ones are around 5" (125mm) long.

All of you who have requested pen blanks, please send me another PM now with your address, and with how many you would like of each category. I'll reply with a PM including my email address so that you can Paypal the postage costs across, and I should be able to send these out in the next few days.

The punky ones vary greatly. Some are the consistency of Weetabix, or weaker. Some are much stronger than that.

Only got an hour in the workshop today, got some pen blanks prepped and one of the bog oak ones finished. Hope to do one or 2 with celtic knots in them.

No, sorry, all I've got left are punky ones. Some of them would need soaking or pressure treating with a specialist chemical. The black and brown ones have all gone.
