So here it is; after epoxy, sanding, and some Carnuba wax.
BTW, I also turned some Boxwood yesterday.
This presumed Honeysuckle (Lonicera) has similar properties in terms of grain and density.
I will be collecting some more for my timber stash.
The price is right! Do you have Honeysuckles in the UK?
These two below are whole branches (with the pith intact).
I look forward to trying it w/o the pith.
