That is actually very clever and very simple - genius idea if you do lots of resawing on boards less than a foot long :wink: Cannot decide whether the limitation is going to be the length of the draw slide or the distance between the weight and the floor. Getting the jig parallel to the blade will also be crucial I guess, but it looks cool anyway :twisted:

Good idea but I think the problem is with the weight. This will be very variable with size and type of wood. Will a 6" re-saw weight be half that required for a 12" cut?

Perhaps fishing scales anchored to the floor with a method of increasing the pull would be better.

TBH I'm not sure why you would actually need it to be automatic? Maybe a crank handle to slowly wind it through?
