    Kitchen units with face frames

The hinges I use are 2 1/2 inch and i usually get them from a company called fixfirm fittings but they havent got a website. If you are only cutting in the door you have to cut it in deeper than the leaf of the hinge if the hinge is 6mm you cut in the door 4.5mm for a 1.5mm gap. cheers jon

    Kitchen units with face frames

Hi Moo I usually just let the hinge into the door so that it leaves a 1mm or so gap on the hinge side. Here are a few pics from a wip I used to do pretty much all my kitchens on butts but these days i normally use soft close concealed hinges unless someone speciffically asks for them...

    Belt sander recommendations

I had a look on the main bosch site and i think it is the inversion stand which is called the sub frame which starts to make everything quite expensive. jon

    Kitchen Wall Unit WIP

its looking good so far but I think you should have had the grain on the dividers going the same way as the grain on the carcase. Tulip wood generally moves a bit when taken indoors and the uprights may end up being slightly proud of the carcase when it dries out a bit. cheers jon

    Zig Zag Sideboard - WIP

Looks very good Brad. Is the dovetail cleat just a tight fit glued at one end? I think i may have made the doors as one big panel and cut the door out afterwards so the grain flowed horizontally from door to door. The stainless steel looks very nice did you have these fabricated or are they...

    SIP spindle moulder

Have you considered getting a bearing for your spindle moulder such as these http://www.axminster.co.uk/omas-omas-be ... rod824640/ You can match the bearing up to the size of your rebate head to create a large bearing guided cutter. Only drawback is that you are limited to a cutting radius the...

Hi Alex the panels are 22mm thick. The finish is Sikkens Filter 7 but at the moment has only the sikkens hls basecoat applied. i would have been more than happy to just let it go grey but the customers wanted to keep it looking fresh. cheers jon

    European Oak Sliding Gate

This is a commision for a european oak gate/screen to allow access into a small courtyard which contains 3 barns. The gate is approx 4200 X 1700 X 70mm thick and is pretty heavy ie it take 4 big men to lift it. The wood was bought as well Air dried and it worked really well. This is the gate in...

Corian for a router table top?

Hi Eric I fabricate corian and I dont think i would use it for a router table top. The main reasons being its usually flat but not perfectly flat so and there is about a 1.5mm tolerance allowed for a dip or crown in a 1m length. You could laminate it to a solid top and fasten it so its...

    Router options

Ive had the 1010 for a while now Simon and its a great little router i use it or a Dewalt 621k for all my 1/4 inch needs. Being able to easily put it on the guide rail is great and with all things festool is nicely made but a little pricey cheers jon

Can you help fix my router?

Ive had a few freuds over the years and the motors seem pretty robust the switches and electronic speed controllers seem to go wrong so I would say its one or the other. I have a couple of scrap freuds in the shop if you need any spares there maybe one that works on one of them which you are...

Hi heres a link to my bandsaw https://www.ukworkshop.co.uk/forums/the- ... 41253.html I am pretty sure the motor on mine is 3hp 3 phase and on a lot of the older machines that is probably output power. Although i havent had it long it seems to be capable of doing everything i need a bandsaw for...

Hi lewy and welcome I hope i can be off more help than woodbloke. This is a pic of a traditional sash I hope Jacob wont mind me posting it here. This is the general idea for a single glazed traditional sash although there are many regional variations in the details. If you are after double...

    Need a Timber Machining Service?

I offer a service similar to what you are proposing. I tend to supply bits of PAR or moulded sections and cut up sheets for local joiners who have no facilities to do it themselves. They usually dont care what it costs as they just add it on the there customers bill. It can be a nice little...

    minimax professional 32 bandsaw

Depending upon how the motor is attached to the bandsaw it might be easier to get the motor rewound than try to fit a replacement. If you look in Local yellow pages you should be able to find someone local to give you a quote. If its single phase it may just be the capacitor that has explded...
