another consideration when making benches is put it on industrial sized lockable casters so you can move it around and make the height dead level with your machines so it can double as infeed/outfeed. Similarly, make your mobile machine bases such that they also have equal height with your mobile bench. That way, again, you have flexibility of positioning and in/outfeed which will allow larger projects like table tops or doors to be accommodated.
 
My workshop is a single garage - and it's got a lot of kit in it... If you are not doing anything too big you can fit quite a lot in...if you have mobile bases. I've got my table saw and bandsaw on wheels and my p/t too.

Good point! China is pretty far advanced with its space programme, so there's no doubt China is fully capable of very sophisticated engineering technology. But I say cheap Chinese woodworking kit as a tongue in cheek description of all the tat that we as woodworkers are so addicted to!
