Weds, 7am. Op by 12pm. Home by Friday (if they have their way)

remember to tell the surgeon we want work in progress pics - cos without pics it didnt happen, ;)

Looking forward to those, perhaps the surgeon will have a head cam.

Sure he will. He'll be operating via the iSurgery app on his iPhone from "the club" over a G&T.

Best of luck to you, Tom. Remember to check the surgeon isn't using Dakota tools, won't you...?

its when he applies grip fill, three sash cramps, and leaves it overnight to set that you need to worry

I thought that was standard practice for fusing vertebrae!

Seriously though Tom, I wish you the very best of luck not only on the day but sincerely hope it fixes your problem long-term.

Bob

again, thanks everyone. Too kind.

Let's hope he doesn't wizer me right up!

Guys I've just had a phone call from the hospital to say the operation has been cancelled. No beds available. They will write to me with another date. I can't believe it. I'm spitting feathers! Good job I'm not self employed, I just don't know how the NHS can get away with this!

Anyway, thanks for your good wishes. I don't know what else to say that doesn't contain harsh expletives.

That's a damn shame Tom, i don't know what to
say mate except i hope they get you in a.s.a.p. :(

I hope they get you in soon Tom. The same thing happened to my mother, they didn't tell her it was cancelled until she arrived for the op.

Oh god I wish I drank.

The worst thing is all the kindness people have shown me over the last week. Good wishes on here. People milling around to help me, etc. It makes me so angry. As well as myself, my close family have all psyched up for the (albeit small) trauma and upset. In one brief phone call and you're left in limbo.

Thanks again guys. Looks like you've got me whinging for a bit longer. Will update you with the date when I hear.

you have to wonder if they actually didn't have a bed - maybe the surgeon is a fellow tool mad chap - maybe he was actually off looking at a new light or knife etc??? We'll never know :)

Hey that's a bit rough, I can remember having been booked in for a double wisdom tooth removal and got myself all worked up for it, only for it to be cancelled on the day.

That was only teeth, I bet you're pretty narked about the whole thing. Why don't you go lathe the crap out of something, you could look back on it as your angry period
