We bought ours from handmadekitchens-direct.co.uk. They don't paint it, provide handles or install it for you. They had a few advantages over others.. if you want a cheap Tom Howley style kitchen then it definitely has that look and also you can customise the units to whatever size you want. This was great to fit in some units into specific spaces within the kitchen.
The construction is MDF carcasses, poplar face frame for painting, drawers are real oak with machined dovetails with poplar faces.
The downsides are that they don't paint it, provide the handles or install it
The installer was OK but had only done flat pack kitchens before. I had to explain to him that the face frame extended beyond the width of the cabinet so that the frames can be scribed into the wall though.. he also got a bit lazy and didn't do this for the dresser unit. As the wall was out of square, this then screwed up the doors. Thankfully HMK agreed to come out and replace the doors. The guy who actually built our kitchen came out, fitted the doors and planed everything in nicely.
If you want good handles, then they are not cheap. As my wife was so keen on Tom Howley, she had found out they use Armac Martin hardware.... that's what we had
We paid someone to paint it for us - they did a mixture of brush / spray and in all honesty, it wasn't worth the money and they did a poor job.
I put on the handles and also oiled the veneers in the cabinets and the oak drawers myself.
Approx 3 years on, the kitchen is still looking good and we're happy with it. If we did it again, I'd probably now install and paint myself, but due to things at the time, that wasn't feasible.
If I was pushed for time, then I'd just get
@doctor Bob or a local equivalent to do it.
