Nope, but I use Vale Veneers for most of my veneers and they deliver very quickly, have thier own website and an e-bay shop. Have you tried South London Hardwoods near Croydon - Not in Essex but only an hour away
I'm another vote for Vale Veneers - I haven't tried many others because Vale have always had what I needed at a good price and delivered very quickly (I am only a DIY user so not large quantities).
Thanks for the offer Dave,
No I will need quite a bit, i've now found I also need a lot of sapele veneers as well.
They are for my Salt and pepper mills! Got a phone call yesterday with a fairly big order for Christmas.
So that should keep me off the street corners for a while.
I've just been on the phone to Crispin, they appear to have just what I want at a good price.
Short drive over to today, let you know how I got on
Malcolm, you must have been there before, Thousands of square metres of some of the most wonderful veneers you have ever seen.
(I had never been to a veneer warehouse before)
They even had tree trunks with burrs a metre in diameter.
Anyway I bought seventeen sheet strips of veneer, each one about 9" by 8 feet for a tenner.
I reckon that was a pretty good deal. On that basis I recommend Crispin.
Thanks to everyone with their recommendations.
John, did you see the old chap on the forklift. When I went there the verneer I wanted was at the bottom of 4 or 5 pallet loads of verneer. He was fantastic to watch moving about the pallets. They are very helpful.
Yes, he was working in the back of the warehouse, I saw a youngish guy who got a woman to help him move packs of leaves to get to a bunch of leaves for me.
He then told me the price of each leaf, then said "If you take all seventeen maybe we can do a deal for the lot"
"Sold" I said!
Yup, great place. Well done Malcolm and thanks again to JonnyD.
