Hi all,

I'm having a lot of trouble with vibrations and it's not the table - my blade is moving left to right as it's going up and down. I'm using the official clamps (so I can use pinless blades) and after a lot of tinkering I'm setting the top clamp to hold the blade at the far right (by far right I mean about 1.5mm) and the bottom clamp at the far left and this has reduced the left/right movement greatly but not enough.

I've only had my scroller a month, should I be putting up with this? (Unfortunately it was shipped from Germany and would have to be returned there :( ) or is there a way to alter where the arms point/aim?

I should add that once I'm actually cutting into wood the left/right movement is absorbed by me holding the wood but it does make scrolling much harder and is frankly spoiling the experience for me.

Thanks for all the info Brian. I did email them previously about the super-stiff tensioning knob and they said I had to return it to Germany; I wouldn't have bought the damned thing if I'd realised it was coming from abroad.

It's got a two year guarantee so I'll tinker with it some more, and also double-check that the pinned blades do the same to prove the problem, and then I'll decide what action to take.

If you buy a saw in a shop the shop has to deal with your problem! Buy from a shop you see other is satisfied with and you always get good sevice. Vibration is almost bad on a cheap saw. Hegner can be bought in England and it is one of the best and most sold. I have had mine for more then 30 years and still the best I have tried.

Thanks guys. I bought it off Amazon for my sins and I've looked and yes I could return/replace it through them (I think.)

After further tweaking I've reduced the left/right movement a bit more, it's not gone but it's better. I think I'm going to endure it while I spend a decent amount of time reading proper reviews and keeping an eye on the second-hand market so I can get a real one.

[edit to add: I've only been doing this for just over a month, and so far I love it but I am aware I might get bored after a while so I'll use this "research period" to prove my love before I spend a proper wad of cash. I even had the blessing from my better half!)

Well it transpired that Einhell UK won't touch this and neither would the seller until I told him it had to be returned through Amazon. Now I've got to ship the damned thing back to Germany.

How to ruin a new hobby :(

At least I know not to buy Einhell ever again.

Well I went and did it... I've returned the blessed thing to Germany with no idea if I'll get a replacement or a refund but I don't care - I've treated myself to the Excalibur EX16 and I can't wait for it to arrive! I've been putting off using the Einhell cos it was spoiling scrolling so much, but now I can get my hands dirty again and continue with the projects I had lined up!
