As do you with left wing.
I dont

Ive voted both Tory and Labour

And Im not left wing, I support this country in having a fair social contract...........thats been broken over the last few decades

I believe in social democracy, I want a country where we have decent public services so there is a safety net for those that need it + I believe in a state which allows capitalism to flourish

I do not support the right wing populism of the current Tories and Reform, it feeds lies, corruption, vested self interest. Unfortunately you dont understand the pervasive and dangerous powers of the Tufton street and other libertarian lobby groups pushing their dishonest agendas

By the way, I do not support the way this Labour party has allowed itself to take large donations, I fear they will be driven by vested interests.

But I do support their tough decisions on the budget, which have allowed a decent increase to NHS, which is vital to lowering waiting times

Kneeler meanwhile is telling us that he has a "hearty and fond" call with Trump, whereas those close to Trump say he regards Starmer as a woke lightweight and negotiating amateur. My instinct is that Starmer is deluded about his relationship with Trump and clinging to the buffoon Lammy is ill advised.
You seem to have fallen for the phoney culture wars

I bet you are an avid Telegraph reader

of course Trump will call Starmer a "negotiating lightweight" -Trump thinks he is a master of negotiating (his string of bankrupt businesses indicates otherwise). Starmer is however not a negotiating lightweight, he is an experienced lawyer, unlike Trump

You're absolutely right. But I spent my working life trying to help people think clearly, examine evidence, justify arguments, and chase the truth in so far as it can be found. Seems like a waste of effort when it turns out you can just make carp up, exploit people's weaknesses, lie to them and 'succeed'. But yes, back to the workshop it is... And thanks, Fergie.
To help people think 'clearly'? Is that as a professional or as a mate in the pub?

I think, and it's just another opinion, that to be in a situation, for which you have no control, you are going to get stressed. To teach someone how to deal with situations like that, whether by a 'professional' or a mate, that results in learning to rise above the stress, see it for what it is, analyse the options and do something to resolve it, is the only real way.
That's the way most people do it but some need that mate.

1) Roe Wade reversal
2) his refusal to accept results of 2020

Those are enough to make him unsuited to high office.

I could go on to talk about his intention to replace federal workers with sycophants or his constant ramping up of division and hatred.

Or his connections to Putin

Or his connections to far right extremist groups like the Proud boys

Or his spreading lies about Haitians eating dogs

Or his narcissistic personality

Or his lack of ability to make a coherent

You seem to have fallen for the phoney culture wars

Experienced Lawyer ! Not sure an experienced lawyer would have left himself as open with all the gifts he has received ‘within the law’ obviously ..!
Did a great job with the rail union !

On the subject of whether Trump voters are stupid and whether it's all right or not for me to say so: if you're going to make a decision that affects my life, which voting will do, and you decide to waive the principles of secret ballot and nail your colours to the mast, then you should expect to be villified by someone who has to live with the negative consequences of that decision you made. Because voting isn't just talking, it's acting. It really is as simple as that. I don't understand people who, when the environment is tribal, expect me to not expect THEM to stand by their convictions when they make them publicly.

You did it, you own it. And I don't mean the vote itself. I mean the decision to announce how you're voting. I think it's as helpful to call people names if they've done something I consider dim as it is to not say anything, if it's screwing my life up. You know, maybe it'll give them pause next time. Or it might just make me feel better :dunno: .

Daily Mail garbage

gifts from opticians and Taylor Swift management are not of any note

certainly dont prove what you claim

Did a great job with the rail union !
It was a below inflation deal and not that different to the Conservatives

carrying on the strikes wouldve cost more than settling

so yes a great job...........its gets strikes out of the way and lets govt get on with business

What is going to happen to Ukraine now that we have a Putin sympathiser as US president?

I personally feel very worried for Ukraine, Trump is going to withdraw all support for Ukraine very very soon

I don't approve of betting. It's a tax on the poor. I read everything, except the endless lefty links that Jaco & co post as life is too short. My favourite is the Daily Mail obvs and the Sun for the more upmarket content.

The last thing I fell for was blonde and used she/her pronouns. Very nice.

Americans don't care about bankruptcies. They're not judgemental like you. Rather they recognise that success comes from trying different things. Trump despite his according to you poor business acumen, manages to run a jet, various golf resorts including in Scotland, a tasteless imo apartment in Trump tower and appears to be able to afford to cohort with "actresses" of flexible morals. Total failure clearly.

The Guardian femmes are getting very worked up now: https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2024/nov/07/trump-women-misogynist-hatred-american-bodies

Women are apparently horrified that T is back! You would think that all of the 73 million voters are he/hims the way they go on. This particular biased journalist has made it all about her. US press reports that the female vote for Harris was lower than the female vote for Biden at the last election. Interesting. No doubt they will publish a full gender and ethnic breakdown in due course. It is being suggested in some US press that the exit poll data greatly underestimates the female vote for T but it is clear that the white female vote deserted Harris.
