But they were the ones who voted him in? Who am I supposed to blame? Putin?Don't blame the voters.
With the odd discrete prod from Putin. So, Elon Musk is now running the US.
Yup. Really not good. Wouldn't surprise me if he doesn't even push carbon capture. Who knows.Bad news for the environment. While China, whatever one might think of the regime, may have the most coal-fired power stations, it is pushing ahead with renewable energy. Trump however will likely rip up any existing agreements in that regard.
I agree, Starmer played a clever strategy of avoiding Tory traps and attack lines. It’s why Starmer didn’t challenge brexit or Rwanda policyIt will lead to a failure to understand the lives and requirements of that section of the population, making those people swing to an ever increasingly more extreme(?) position. That will likely strengthen the view of those who oppose them that they are indecent, pushing them further and further away
I disagree, unfortunately social media has created a way for lthere morally corrupt to spread lies faster than the truth can catch up.there is the possibility to engage those people and finding common ground for a positive future relationship
Yep.unfortunately social media has created a way for lthere morally corrupt to spread lies faster than the truth can catch up.
To understand that vote, you're going to have to explore the studies of various, largely academic/ left-leaning commentators who analyse the ways in which ideology (constructed false-consciousness) operates. I'm afraid you'll have to look at post-Marxist research to get that. That'll lead you down the path of mass media, to an understanding of how popular consciousness is constructed to the advantage of a few. Some people like to scoff at media studies and the like, but that's where the answer lies. Once you have a failing economy and advanced system of misinformation, you can end up with all sorts of nonsense. What are the reasons and the preceeding events that have lead seemingly the majority of the voting US population opting for a Trump 2nd term? Once that is explored and understood, rather than dismissed as the result of simply poor education or moral degradation, there is the possibility to engage those people and finding common ground for a positive future relationship.

No
Hang on
Anything's better than Harris. So, Elon Musk is now running the US.
Interesting to speculate how much influence he had on the win.So, Elon Musk is now running the US.
I'd think we might see Michelle Obama as a candidate in 2028.Had the Democrats selected a decent candidate the outcome might have been different.
Gosh, 64 pages and 1273 repetitive posts, none of which have any bearing on the outcome.

At this rate, this thread is destined to have a longer run than 'The Mousetrap' In the West End.
Brings to mind the lyrics of 'Talking Heads' 'Psycho Killer':
I can't seem to face up to the facts
I'm tense and nervous and I can't relax
I can't sleep 'cause my bed's on fire
Don't touch me, I'm a real live wire
You start a conversation, you can't even finish it
You're talking a lot, but you're not saying anything
When I have nothing to say, my lips are sealed
Say something once, why say it again?
Ho hum .
