Current set up analog ariel then a one way 12db amp in loft to humax digital box in bedroom all is fine but i want to feed two more rooms from loft and if i try a old 3 way distributing amp with lower gain using good coax to all, the bedroom set gets picture and sound drop outs on chans.3&4 so to me it looks like gain is important. How can i get a good signal to all the rooms please.

I had trouble with mine when I went over to digital, had an amp in loft on old aerial but could only get the digi working on bedroom tv. In the end I had to have a new aerial put on the roof, so much better now and it is still running through the 4 way amp so all the rooms get it now :D

Old, when you say 'good coax' is it specifically digital cable? Any old coax won't cut the mustard with digital signals.

Have you looked at the signal quality on your Humax when you've got the other amp in circuit. Bit academic but might be of use.

I'm 14 miles away - perfectly clear line of sight. Some channels were no good at all. Bought a new digital aerial. No cigar. Bought some new digital aerial cable and voila. Perfect. Probably didn't need the new aerial.

Second thought ....if it's an old analogue type amp then also probably better to get a more modern digital capable one.

I employed a aerial fitter he said that the existing aerial was good on the high frequencys used so a new large digital one would give a small improvement only. So we went for a 4 way masthead adjustable amp with separate power supply which all use F type connectors that fixed the problem which was signal bit error fails on some of the channels .
