Tulipwood bowl!

Hi all
Had a go with a piece of Tulipwood today that I was going to pierce after turning it but decided against it after waxing it and bringing out the grain. Tulipwood tends to be a quite bland wood sometimes but I have had a few nice blanks of it lately.
This is 8" diam 4" high and finished in Woodwax, Comments welcome ta

Ta Eugene it`s a weird sort of wood its a mixture of very green or cream ! and its a right PITA to get smooth. I had a a few bits and just made an identical piece to try some carving on!

Lovely design to this - nice grain. I've never seen Tulipwood without red ripples.

Thanks Harlequin and LW. I gather there two types of Tulipwood the pink type (American?) and the green type which this is. Lovely to turn but a right PITA to get smooth especially on the end grain #-o There I`ve said it twice now it really was a pain (hammer)
