Gary told me that he'd called Axminster and after consulting with your misses they'd definitely already shipped the Lie Nielsens, lol.

In all seriousness I can't express my gratitude to yourself or the others that have helped me out and I'm eternally grateful. The college staff will also be pleased to see that despite my best efforts I'm not longer trying to chop out hinges with a fork and dessert spoon.

In the rest of the world people take to the streets to voice their concerns & protest at the need for change, here we just say "Oh well" then complain about it.

Are we going on a march? lol

What else could be expected, even the MP's have been at it.

Unfortunately this seems to be true but I must remind you DevonWoody that politics can not be discussed here as laid down under section 6 of the UKWorkshop rules and regulation 29/07/10. :D

Click me I'm a link to the said paragraph

On the other hand I do agree with you! =D>

I think it's unfair to hijack Stig's thread, especially considering the misfortune he has had.
Stay on topic and stay on the issue at hand.

Bas~~~ds!!!

I'll have a good look around tomorrow, I can definately let you have a 4" engineers square, probably a 6", and maybe even a smoothing or jack plane.

Cheers

Aled

A big thank you to Aled, the No.5 turned up today along with the engineers squares.

She's certainly a beauty, I almost managed to drag myself out to find a piece of wood just to have a play but the coughing fit that preceded my thoughts reminded me to stay in

Thank you very much Big Soft Moose, I have some tenons that need cleaning up on my cabinet so that will come in very useful.

It always amazes me how many different planes there actually are and how each one has its own purpose in life. I wonder how many planes there are in Japanese carpentry but they sure have a lot more joints than we western folk use.

not specifically - but my direct line house contents insurance gives me £5k cover for personal possesions away from the house. The sticking point tho is they dont cover stuff left unattended in cars unless it is locked in the boot , and the car has a solid bulkhead (ie not a boot you can access though the back seats)

Does anyone know of a company which offers insurance on tools?

I was offered tool insurance when in renewed my public liability, it was so expensive that as long as my tools are not stolen more frequently than every three years i am better off not having any. Just shows what a problem theft is.

I can't recall where you are based, Jamie, but we may well have some stuff in the workshop that will never need to be returned that might help you. How far are you from Gloucester? What do you still need? You're very welcome to come over and rootle around in the stuff that's been around for a while.

Cheers

Nick
