Kity is on her way down south with Pete and my new saw is not coming until w/c 1st March  I think I'll survive until then, I suppose I could fix the floor while I'm waiting...

Well if you are stuck for things to do Ed...you could always drag your bench into the middle and do a few open heart surgery operations on the side!!!

I have never seen such a clean workshop!!

Holds head in shame and disgust!!

Oh i thought that was the living room i was looking for one of those fangled TV things everyone talks about. Sure wish i had it in me to keep things that tidy.

Nice workspace, but surely you must need to get more 'stuff' hanging on the walls?!

Its a workshop, not a theme pub

I do agree tho, the walls look bare. I guess you've got enough storage downstairs?

I'm sure someone will tell you there's plenty of space in there for a lathe....!

:D

well i did mention that in passing, but to be fair hes got a lathe - its just that it turns metal rather than wood ;)

as you can see i'm back home, kity is still in bits in my shop as i havent had time to do the reasembly yet

(hell of a journey - what took a tad under two and a half hours going this morning took nearly four on the return leg due to snow in the worcester area)

Ed what size is your thicknesser back there (ie is it bigger than the Scheppach?) and how does it stack up performance wise?

Just curious, no plans to change my current P/T

The DeWalt is bigger - its 12", whereas the Scheppach only thicknesses about 10" I think.

I actually had the DeWalt first and for some time managed just with that and some hand planing and judicious board turning. When I got the Scheppach i had intended to sell the DeWalt, but find it better at thicknessing, so really the Scheppach is only used for surface planing.

The DeWalt is a brilliant little machine and I now don't think I'll part with it. With hindsight I should have just bought a surface planer, but now I have the Scheppach I guess I'll keep both.
