I do not like safari . I am used to I.e. On my pc.
Is there anything I can use on my iPad other than safari?

The iPad is so unlike a PC, avoiding Safari won't help. IE on a iPad not be very PC-like.

You may as well stick with Safari.

I'm no expert but have a look at this http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2409904,00.asp

Looks to me as if you are stuck with Safari, any other browser eg Chrome etc will have to use Safari ie be just a Safari wrapper and slower.
Not a fan of Apple far to controlling and restrictive for their commercial gain.

Brian

Well, one benefit of staying with Apple stuff is that broadly speaking I don't have to worry about nasties, viruses etc. I can just get on and do stuff.

Easy. If you don't like Apple, don't buy an iPad. On the other hand, it is still the best all round tablet.

Damning with faint praise...

BugBear (not a tablet fan)

What's wrong with Safari - I have no problems with it on my Apple gear?
I use Firefox on my PC - IE is the pits!!

On the iPad all it wants are passwords repeatedly a nd these days everyone has different requirements.

IE is usually content one registered at a forum.

Use Autofill password??

I have no idea what it's like compared to Firefox on my iMac or MacBook but you could do a lot worse than this if it is like wot I got?

http://www.virtualfirefox.com/Firefox-Browser-for-ipad

Just as a matter of interest, there is no way that I would go back to Windose after OS X. It's much more secure, as Roger said, but you still have to be careful with it. I don't use Safari so I have no idea what it's like and as I have never used an iPad I can't comment on them. If I were to go to a tablet then it would be an iPad, probably a refurbished one?

Safari, sometimes it's lets me into the forums, and then it won't.. Although remember me is on and I have email notifications on.
Favourites are a pain compared to I.e.
Web fails to connect to guest Internet on many occasions.
It's password controlled on everything and we know what a pain that can be.

The connection issues are almost certainly distinct from your choice of browser. Regarding so, sometimes letting you onto forums and sometimes not, what do you mean ? Does it sometimes accept your password and sometimes not ? or is it that sometimes it won't render that page ? Regarding passwords, remembering them and keying them, consider some sort of password manager. Not all demand you send then your (encrypted) passwords, the ones I use on Windows and Linux store them locally on my hard disc or memory stick.

Remember also that a tablet is not the same as a pc, in as much as they have different functionality.

A pc will do anything you want, but a tablet is primarily a browsing device, the same as a phone is.
