The house that 100k built. How depressing!

In N.Z. varnished chipboard floors are very common - that would seem odd to us.

Our common use of fully fitted carpets is anathema to Italians.

Nothing wrong with Sterling board, used in the right place of course. I've built dozens of rabbit hutches, dog kennels, etc. using it. Once stained it looks pretty good considering.

Hiya!

Does anyone know where is can watch this program? I missed it when it was on bbc and can't find the episodes anywhere online. Even YouTube doesn't have them.

Thanks,

Sandy

The use of sterling board has a lot more to do with its price than its aesthetics. £100k is not a lot to build anything out of the ordinary (just look at the spiraling costs of the 'Grand Designs' builds) and by the time it comes to fitting out there is nothing left in the kitty for marble worktops and the like!
