Hi Dave,

It sounds as though you probably have a disposable blade, I've just measured the teeth on one of the AW ones and they are 3.5mm thick and about 7.5mm long. You may find a saw sharpener who is prepared to have a go at it but the chances are they will tell you it's not worth it and offer you a replacement blade.

Hello Matthew

That confirms what I had expected.

Thanks for your patience in helping the unknowledgable.

Cheers

Dave

Well, I placed my order over the net yesterday morning with Atkinson Walker for a 20pt 200mm industrial blade, and it arrived by DHL at 11.30 this morning. Very impressive service. Couldn't wait to try it so put it straight on the saw and did a couple of test cuts without adjusting anything. What a difference!

Here's a rip cut down the same piece of English oak as I used for the opening photo in this thread. I think it speaks for itself.

Not cheap at £48 inc postage, but clearly a quality item, and if I avoid using it on used timber that contains a hidden nail, it should last many years with some careful resharpening. Looking forward to getting in to my next project now.
