Has anyone mentioned silver loaded - and therefore conductive - epoxy? Thus no issues re soldering. A small pack is not cheap though.
You can also just hold the end of the wire on a 3-5mm chisel bit on the soldering iron and the coating burns off as you tin it.I’ve managed to solder headphone and speaker wires in the past by flicking a lighter flame over the end. Any coatings burn off, and you can scrape it clean, flux and tin it. They are quite delicate so be careful.
