IMG-20241117-WA0003.jpgfolks, I'm looking for a washer as per the image attached. The washer sits in the shower head and incorporates a fine mesh. Anyone know what the washer might be called or where it could be procured. The usual high street sources couldn't help.
Any suggestions?

'rubber filter washer' or 'rubber gauze washer' or 'hose washer screen' will find them in a search. Amazon, eBay, Wolseley are three suppliers that come up.

They are available in 1/2" and 3/4" BSP sizes, so for a shower, you need 1/2".

Are these too big?

Thanks for asking. There is considerable scope for confusion. Good old pipe sizes strikes again.

As they are described as 'shower', they would be OK. In that description, the 3/4" is the outside diameter of the washer.

The 3/4" BSP ones would be described as for use with a washing machine (and if the OD is given, would be larger than 3/4").

As this is in the showerhead it could be a flow restrictor rather than just a filter. I would have expected a filter to be in the shower valve inlet. Do you have a parts diagram for the shower? Especially important if the shower is pumped to give a greater flow rate.
An example of a flow restrictor is eBay item number: 395782267594 or available on Amazon.

Looks like a filter as pressure reducers are normally colour coded for identification blue , green red etc . The colour dictates the flow rate that can be achieved as per the installation instructions. As above you need the 1/2 “ size for most shower applications.
