The last few months we have been involved in collecting items for a town to celebrate it's coal history. From Coal yard to home.
Part of that we needed a cooal yard pick axe, but finding a area related tool was very hard. So we hatched a cunning plan.
But the one in the scrap yard was dead.
The Chisiel point was reformed, hardened and tempered.
The point end designe is what makes this pick axe unique to the region.
The shat was sanded down and cleaned up.
The head was warmed yp and a wax oil mix applied.
Then it was tested out.
I know we could of given them a standard pick axe. But we knew that the old workers would visit and soon the mistake would be pointed out.
