I no longer need the shower option and want to blank it off.
I would prefer to take out the whole shower mechanism and blank off at the main body.
To do this the blank would need to be chrome, with approx. 32mm dia male thread.
Are these available and how would you tighten it?

I think you need a 1/2" bsp chrome blank nut

Agreed that is an option if you blank off where the flexible hose joins the unit. But I want to blank off at the body of the tap unit and the hole there is 32mm dia and needs a male thread.

32mm compression stop end would probably do the job. Won't be pretty, though you can get them in a chrome finish.

Correct, I've gone for the blanking at the flex hose junction.
Can't source a 32mm compression chrome cap nut locally. And as PeterMillard says ' It won't be pretty '
1/2" chrome cap nut was difficult enough to source.
