Safety help - Dewalt 7485 table saw

Hi all
Desperation post. I'm a novice with tablesaws. A part has come off and I don't know what it is or where it goes. Am not going to turn it back on until I understand what it is, put it back on and made sure it's 100% safe.

Can someone with experienced eyes have a look at the pictures I've added and see if they recognise what it is and where it goes?

Hello and welcome to the forum. Have you tried looking in the manual? There maybe an exploded diagram that could point you in the right direction. Alternatively, google the part number of the saw and you might find it there.

I don't have your saw but upon looking at an exploded parts diagram online it appears to match to part number 3 quite well (just below the insert plate):

I have just gone to shed and checked it on my saw.
Yes, it seems it is the locking bracket of the throat plate.

No worries mate.

You probably loosened the throat (insert) plate locking screw too much and the bracket fell down. Keep in mind, it only takes a quarter turn to loosen and tighten.
