Hi

We have an Ideal Logic 24 boiler maybe reaching around 14 years old. It has a water tank. I'm not sure what the correct name for this boiler is.

Recently we've had some issues (pressure drop) and the vessel replaced but the pressure continues to drop every 3/4 days.

Most plumbers are recommending to replace the boiler due to its age.

I was hoping for a fair opinion on what boiler/brand is recommended? Would the same piping suffice or is there going to be some challenges on that?

Thanks

Do you mean a hot water cylinder or header tanks for the heating and hot water ? You say it loses pressure so I would assume it is a heat only boiler with a hot water cylinder and is a better choice than a combi boiler as they do last longer and parts are cheaper. Heat only or regular boilers are just that, all components like the pump and zone valves are external and so you get complete choice of what to use and are not tied to a brand. Look at Worcester Bosch Greenstar boilers and if getting a new pump then look at Grundfoss, there intelligent pumps like the Alpha give much better control without using lots of energy or overpumping.
