Hi guys
Just wondering where you all get you ply/mdf etc from. Was in B&Q the other day getting a couple of supplies for my scroll saw bench and had a quick look at the MDF and ply. To be honest its pretty poor stuff and appears expensive. Do anyone use mail order??? photo of my bench coming soon

On a recommendation from here I have now used Slec for my baltic birch plywood and have been very happy with the quality, delivery and price. They also sell thinner strips of some wood that I have found good for smaller projects.

Thanks for that post Stooby, have had a look, and they certainly compare very favourably with Hobbies who I always ordered from, will definitely be giving them a try :)

Not heard of Hobarts before, had a look on the web-site but when I click on delivery (at the bottom) it just gives a page with a delivery header and no info? Is this just me?

A few of their other 'policy' hyperlinks at the bottom of the page are also just headers. I can't remember whether I've ever read it or not as I knew they had a flat rate shipping rate when I placed my orders. A quick email to support should get it for you though.

I've placed several orders with Hobarts and have always found the goods of a very high standard (unlike Hobbies) and the goods have been well packed and shipped within a couple of days.

As I say, because of the flat rate shipping rate it pays to place a decent order but is not cost effective if you only want a couple of sheets.

Barry
