There are often questions posted about the toxicity of yew and it's suitability for food related items. I can't say one way or the other but it's perhaps best to err on the side of caution.
However, after being told, and following some research I've found that the flesh of the berry is edible and all the toxins are contained within the pip. If you squeeze out the pip (and make sure it's done cleanly) then the flesh is safe to eat.
I tried one yesterday and I have to say that it was delicious! I'll not be making a habit of it but I'm pleased that I've tried it.
Also, have a close look at the berry before removing the pip as they're rather beautiful.
