Picture resizing, help please

Was trying to post a wee picture using uploadit.org. Signed up for the free service, tried to upload an image but will only accept a max 200 KB size. How do I go about resizing? And what would the best size be for including in a post? Using Win XP Pro. Original image is about 300 KB.

HI Noely

Most graphics programs allow resizing of images, I use either Corel PhotoPaint 10 or Adobe Photoshop 7 to do this, however cheaper or often free programs will do the same. Paintshop pro appears on magazine CDs all the time and it will do what you ask as will ACDsee

I usually change the resolution to 72 Pixels per Inch and crop the picture to a smaller size. Then if it is still too large, I resize it down to 800x600 or even 640x480 pixels
