My favourite was after a heavy landing the rather embarrassed Captain was bidding farewell to his somewhat shaken passengers when a frail looking old lady politely inquired as to whether they had landed or been shot down. :lol:

The aviation one that got me was when flying home from America many years ago.

'Hello, this is your captain speaking. Welcome aboard Air 2000 flight 123 from Orlando to Manchester via Bangor, Maine. We have a strong tail wind today; we've done our calculations and you'll be pleased to know that we think we've got just about enough fuel to make it to Manchester in one hop. So if its all right with everyone we'll give it a go.

You'll be home nice and early. Hopefully.'
